Disability Access When refurbishing the property we were concerned to make it more “user friendly “ for those with limited mobility. Therefore there is a double bedroom and a bathroom, with shower over bath, on the ground floor. In addition there is an external ramp allowing easy access to the property. Internally the flooring is either tiled or reclaimed hardwood and the Sitting/Dining Room is open to the fitted Kitchen which gives a great feeling of space. Mission Statement We are concerned about “Green” issues and have tried where possible to choose products and services that will help the environment, local community and reflect the natural beauty of the surroundings. For example the hot water and central heating system is powered by a ground source heat pump whose requirement for electricity will be provided for in the future by wind power. Odourless, solvent-free organic paints have been used extensively as well as traditional linseed paint on the windows which we hope will live up to their claims of only needing to be repainted every fourteen years! Under the guidance of our well respected, and very patient architect Bashir Hasham we have used Orkney based contractors to complete our renovation and have been delighted with their professionalism, expertise and good humour.
